DR DAVIN TAN

Dr Davin Tan, MBChB, FRANZCP, Cert Child Psychiatry, Cert Forensic Psychiatry. Dr Tan grew up in New Zealand and graduated from Auckland Medical School. He is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. Dr Tan has worked in community and inpatient hospital settings based in New Zealand and Australia as a specialist in general adult, forensic and child psychiatry.

Dr Tan's interest in medico-legal psychiatry (the interface between psychiatry and the law) grew when he worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist at the Auckland Regional Youth Forensic Service while caring for the mental health of youth offenders, and during his consultancy at the Mason Clinic, Regional Forensic Service; where he prepared reports for the Youth, District and High Court in New Zealand. Now based in the Bay of Plenty, Dr Tan regularly conducts independent psychiatric assessment and prepares reports for a range of referrers in New Zealand and Australia, for both criminal and civil matters.
